Luke Bradley VanOverbeke

Luke Bradley VanOverbeke was born to Beth and Kyle VanOverbeke on Monday, May 21.  We rejoice with Beth, Kyle, and the whole family as they welcome this blessing of a baby boy. As a family of believers we rejoice in the good news that Luke will be made a child of God through water and the Word during worship on Sunday, June 17.

Hazel Marie Nere

We rejoice with Russ and LuAnn Nere as they offer a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord for the blessing of a new granddaughter, Hazel Marie Nere.  Hazel was born Monday, May 28 to Jeremy and Jaimie Nere.  We rejoice that baby Hazel and mother Jaimie are in good health.  God be praised!

Thank You for another year of Sunday School

We would like to thank the Sunday School staff, children, and parents for another year of Sunday School.  We are so thankful for our teachers who volunteer their time and energy in the sharing of the Word of God in this way. May God bless the teaching and instruction in the Word of God that the children received.

Pray for Called Workers

Mr. Stephen Pankow has accepted the Call to serve as our director at Little Lambs. Steve and his wife Megan will be making the move from California to Danube in early July.  We will also be receiving MLC graduate, Heidi Nielsen, to serve as our new toddler teacher.  We pray for these two new called workers and ask that God would bless their work among us!  Recently our fellow congregation Zion in Olivia found out that they will not be receiving a seminary graduate to be their next pastor.  They plan to extend a call to an experienced pastor through a June 10 call meeting.  May God provide strength, wisdom, and guidance so that the ministry of Christ’s Church may be carried out throughout our area.  May the Lord answer the prayers of his people in Olivia and throughout our synod as they pray for called workers.  The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.  – Luke 10:2

Little Lambs Rummage Sale

The annual Little Lambs Rummage Sale will be held on June 8th and 9th.  You may start dropping off donations on June 4th. Volunteers are needed throughout the week to sort and arrange the donations as they come in. More specific instructions are available on the insert.  Please contact Beth Kuschel with any questions.  Donate your lightly used items to the Little Lambs Rummage sale, help our center raise funds, and maybe find a few treasures to take home.

Forty Years of Ministry & Retirement Celebration

The members of Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia invite you to join them as they give thanks to God for Pastor Joel Luetke.  We give thanks to God for the 40 years of ministry that the LORD has carried out through his faithful servant. Special arrangements are being made for Sunday, June 24 as the congregation says farewell to Pastor Joel Luetke and his wife Julie.  Before they head off into retirement come for worship at 9:00am and/or an open house at Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia from 2-5pm (with a program starting at 3:00 p.m.).  We give thanks to God for all the wonderful things he has done among us through you two!  God’s richest blessings to you!  The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore! – Psalm 121:8
